Geodarts

My user name comes from watching professional darts and having cached since 2004. During that time I have used caching logs to write about everything from fanciful stories to social commentary, from stream of consciousness to things that get my interest apart from finding a container.
Part of the art of writing any type of log is knowing that whatever said will most likely never be read by even those who find a cache — and it will soon disappear. It is like a Snapchat photo except that it never really goes away.
Many of my favorite caches and logs are on my profile. Nevertheless, a few years ago I started to collect logs that I had written that feature Aura Raines, the Space Captain from Clarian and a Friend to Cachers all. They became The Adventures of Aura Raines. I never expected anyone to read them — most people don’t even know about Aura Rhanes from Clarion and how she became the first alien to be a part of divorce proceedings. My Aura is simply a way for me to have fun. Unfortunately, space aliens account for only a small for only number of caches.
While my logs will never equal a true master of the craft, like Oregone, they have been part of what makes caching interesting for me. Occasionally a cache owner will appreciate something. For certain logs I will posted a link on my caching profile to highlight them.
My profile page started to fill up so I considered alternatives.
During one trip we stopped at a cache that I thought deserved more. it was placed in memory of someone who had been accused on a murder-suicide, but was later vindicated by a confession. I was intrigued by the story and contacted the cache owner as well as looking up news articles from 1938, when the crime occurred. That inspired me to do something similar to Aura and have started these diaries in response.
